Network Maintenance Complete

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

The network maintenance scheduled for 2009-06-21 from midnight central time to 6:00am central time has been completed.  DNS entries for mf1.ijnet.net, mf2.ijnet.net, g1.ijnet.net and g2.ijnet.net have been restored to their original settings to point to the respective gateways.  It will take up to 24 hours for these DNS changes to propogate.  During this time the temporary gateways will remain online and available to accept mail from those servers that have not received updated DNS information.  The temporary gateways will continue to forward mail to the appropriate gateway for processing.

There is currently a backlog of mail that was recieved by the temporary gateways during the maintenance window.  This mail will be forwarded to the gateways to be processed as quickly as possible, but users may continue to experience mail delays for several hours as the gateways catch up with the backlog.

On Sunday, 2009-06-21 from 12:00AM CST to 6:00AM CST Purity Networks will be performing a planned network maintenance.  During this maintenance window there may be extended periods where mail will be held at temporary staging gateways for later delivery to our email protection gateways and delivery to your server.  At no time will mail be bounced or will services appear to be unavailable to sending servers.

Additionally, the following services may be unavailable for extended periods during this maintenance window:

  • Our public websites, including www.purity.net
  • The Account Manager
  • The Live Quarantine System
  • The Support Ticketing System – it is likely that support questions emailed to support@purity.net will be held for an extended period during this maintenance window before making it into the ticketing system.  Additionally, web-based access to the system is likely to be down for extended periods as well.  For emergency support only during this maintenance window, please call 224-558-3907. Please leave a message if you do not receive an answer and we will call you back shortly.
  • Our support phone line and all other Purity Networks phone lines.  See item above for emergency support contact.

During this maintenance window we will be moving our infrastructure to a new datacenter that will allow for further expansion of our services.  Please contact support if you have any questions regarding this maintenance window.

Tonight’s scheduled maintenance to replace our power distribution unit was started at 12:30am central time and completed at 12:40am central time.  All systems are normal and the replacement was a success.  Thank you for your patience.

Scheduled Maintenance – 07/18/2008 00:00 Central (CDT)

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

We will be replacing and upgrading our power distribution unit (PDU) tonight at midnight, 7/18/2008 00:00 Central (CDT).  This change will cause an approximate 10 minute total outage of all of our services, including the following:

  • Easy Antispam Gateways – mail sent during this brief outage will queue on the sending server and be retried when our gateways come back up
  • easyantispam.com – Main website, billing system, account manager, support system… all web properties.
  • Telephone system – Our main telephone switch will be unavailable, causing our main numbers to not be available. Please call 224-558-3907 for emergencies only during this outage window.

This upgrade is being done to more reliably provide power distribution to our servers and better handle power utilization spikes.
