New Quarantine System – Feedback Wanted

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

We’ve had some people testing the new quarantine system for a week or so now and we’ve gotten some great feedback.  We’re still open to adding additional domains to the new system, so if you’re interested in testing the new quarantine system drop us an email at support@easyantispam.com and let us know which domain(s) you’d like to test with.

For those that are currently testing the new system, please feel free to post your comments about it to this blog post — either positive or negative.  We’re striving for transparency here so we’ll take any and all comments you have and try to address them as best we can.

Provided we don’t run into any major problems with the new system I anticipate that we’ll be getting ready for the systemwide rollout next month.  We want to get some information together to give out to our customers so that they can notify their customers of the changes and give people enough time to communicate that.   If you have suggestions on the rollout to make it easy (relatively, anyway) on everyone, please let us know here as well.

New Quarantine System Ready For Testers

Friday, March 16th, 2007

For those that are interested in testing the new quarantine system, we’re ready to go. (It’s about time, eh?)

If you would like to test the system on one or more of your domains, please send an email to support@easyantispam.com with the domain name(s) you want converted over.

Once you have received confirmation in the ticket that the domain(s) have been switched over, the users on the domain(s) will need to go to http://www.protectedmail.net/ and activate their email account.  On the login page there is a link that says “Need to activate your account?”  They will click that link and type in their email address.   They’ll receive two emails — one with a verification link to verify that they in fact own that email address and another with a temporary password.  Once they’ve verified the account they can log in with their email address and temporary password.  They’ll be prompted to change the password after their first login.

Once logged in they’ll be in their quarantine queue.  Initially there may not be any messages in there until new spam gets stopped.  They can go to the Preferences tab to update their settings.

IMPORTANT: By default, daily quarantine digest emails are NOT enabled.  This can be changed from the preferences tab.

Also from the preferences tab the user can add “aliases” — this is a great feature that allows a user with more than one email address that is protected by Easy Antispam/Protected Mail to link them all into one account, allowing them to view their quarantine all at once and also to receive only one quarantine digest for all their email addresses (if digests are enabled).

Additionally users can create an RSS feed URL to view their quarantine via RSS.

Let me know if you have any questions.
